Holiday Time and a Recipe for Loss of Voice

I have not written my blog for a while as any regular readers will obviously be aware. Easter arrived and for me, with it, a cold/loss of voice and a sudden urge to put life on hold and sleep for a while – so I did. I had
sung at a funeral on the Monday before Easter and after that, I think my voice must have felt that enough was enough. Fortunately, however, I am now recovered having consumed large amounts of honey, lemon juice and brown sugar all mixed in hot water. This is an old recipe but it works like magic. I was just glad that I was not planning to sing anywhere over Easter as this would not have been possible.

Since the performance of Mendelssohn’s ‘Elijah’ on 7th March, I have listened to the CD of ‘Elijah’ for relaxation only and thoroughly enjoyed it but in a different way from previously. I am hoping of course that more singing work will come my way as a result of the performance.

Anne.
