Life has been busy recently what with Piano Diploma exam which I thoroughly
enjoyed and all the Christmas preparations. Trying not to think about exam
result which hopefully will come either just before or just after Christmas.

Friday evening I went to hear Handel’s ‘Messiah’ at St. David’s Hall,
Cardiff, performed by Welsh National Opera and soloists. It was fantastic!
It was like hearing all the things I have been taught about singing rolled
into one neat package of a performance. Just the start to my Christmas
festivities which I wanted.

Last night it was a carol concert given by a local Choir which I thoroughly
enjoyed. They are performing Mendelssohn’s oratorio ‘Elijah’ in March, 2010
and my name has been put forward as a possibility for the Soprano soloist.
The Choir were asked for suggestions for soloists and a friend who is a
choir member very kindly suggested me so I am keeping everything crossed! I
will update! Still no concerts before Christmas. Why doesn’t my phone ring
with that hoped-for request to sing? or why doesn’t that Email that I would
like to receive drop into my in-box? If I should get this solo part in
March, it would be a wonderful opportunity to show my ability/capability as
a singer. I am remaining positive for the moment, afraid to think either
way.

Also might have to play carols on a keyboard for some ‘singing santas’ on
Friday which sounds like so much fun which is why I’ve agreed to do it if I
am needed. The least I can do is dress up as the Christmas fairy – Santa’s
‘little helper’!

All for now.

Anne.
